For my site evaluation, I presented three H&P, 2 drug cards, and an article. The case I presented to Professor Melendez is where the patient had a molar pregnancy and was admitted by the ED because she didn’t feel her baby move for 2-3 days. Professor Melendez’s comment was to focus on physical exam findings such as is the patient feeling any pain, is any bleeding, and whether the importance for this patient is continuous follow-up until hCG levels are 0. Professor Melendez noted in my plan for this patient was the lack of follow-up because we need to make sure patient’s hCG levels are down to 0 because if not there could be serious complications for the patient. He told me I did a great job on what tests I would order such as Type N screen to check for RH compatibility, and CBC to check for H&H to see if the patient is anemic and if they need a transfusion.
